Hindu Prayer for Peace

O God, lead us from the unreal to the Real.
O God, lead us from
darkness to light.
O God, lead us from death to immortality.
Peace, peace to all.

O Lord God Almighty, may there be peace on earth. May all beneficent
beings bring peace to us.
May all things be a source of peace to us.

Hinduism

We believe that every person’s spirit is a part of the great spirit of the universe, called Brahman. Eternal and everywhere, Brahman has no beginning and no end. The many gods and goddesses we worship each represent one aspect of Brahman.

We are taught to respect and love all religions believing that each is another path to the same source. We have many kinds of religious ceremonies, festivals and rituals, honoring different aspects of Brahman. Most of us keep a small altar at home.

A prayer practice we use to achieve inner peace and harmony is creating mandalas. Each time we create one we nurture the seeds of peace dwelling within us. Feeling this peace within our hearts, we send it out to the universe.

Golden Rule:
Treat others as you would yourself be treated.

Peace Word: Namaste

Sacred Items:
Ganesh, Lakshmi, Aum symbol, prayer beads

Spiritual Practice: Prayer beads and mandalas
