Prayer for Peace

O Great Spirit of our Ancestors, I raise my pipe to you. To your messengers the four winds, and to Mother
Earth who provides for your children.

Give us the wisdom to teach our children to love, to respect, and to be kind to each other so that they may grow with peace of mind.

There is one Great Spirit, the Creator of all things. The Great Spirit is beyond the mind of man or woman. We believe Mother Earth is a living being, created by this Great Spirit. We are all related, our sisters and brothers are holy people put here by the Great Spirit. Therefore, we share a profound and deep reverence for the natural world and all its inhabitants. All things and people in this world are holy and must not be violated.

Four commandments exist for everyday living: Respect for the Great Spirit, Respect for Mother Earth, Respect for the Tribe (our brothers and sisters), and Respect for Individual Freedom. These are our pathways to peace.

Golden Rule:
Live in harmony, for we are all related.

Peace Word: May the Great Spirit be with you

Sacred Items:
Medicine wheel, prayer rattle, prayer stick, drum, sage in abalone shell

Spiritual Practice: Prayer feather
